This morning we chilled out at our hotel, enjoyed a leisurely breakfast and caught up on some blogging, while here at Windermere
The Bloggers ... |
Then we set off to explore Windermere and around the Lakes District. It's so beautiful up here, with little villages nestled up against Lake Windermere, and marinas full of yachts and all sorts of watersports on offer.

Our first stop happened to be the Treetop Trek. As it turns out, the Leonards are amazing adventurers who love adrenalin sports (or at least 3 out of the 4 of us do! The other one was on media duty - there was no way we could miss capturing this!). Greg, Em and Thomas got fitted in their harnesses and listened intently to the safety briefing (or not - Em seemed more worried about getting a wedgy from the harness).
Obstacle course amongst the tree tops |
The kids had a ball - 1.5hrs of navigating through a rope-based obstacle course suspended between trees at a crazy height..... I was scared watching from the ground!
Cruisin it in |
...except for the parts without ropes to hold onto. They freaked us out. |
The zip line was the absolute highlight, a 300-400m free run down from the tower, just suspended by our harnesses - the kids were begging to go again.

Time to goooooooooo..... |
...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...... |
well...at least Em and I made it... |
only kidding.... |
We then explored Windermere, which now rated pretty high in Thomas's book as they had a Marvel comics shop, with Ironman and The Avengers stuff everywhere.

The kids then polished the day off in the pool...

Dear 5/6 White and Miss Ferguson,
Today we had the best day ever! We went to a place called Treetop Trek. We did an obstacle course in the trees! It was crazy high and we had to wear a harness. The best bit was the Triple Zip line were Dad, Thomas and I got to fly down the zip line - we went really fast!

Dear Emily,
ReplyDeleteThe Lake District looks amazing. We wish we were there with you right now, we would have loved to do the Treetop Trek with you and that must've been an exceptional one and a half hours. We hope you could get past the harder parts of the course and had an enjoyable time on the giant flying fox. Windermere looks amazing and picturesque.
What was your favourite part of Treetop Trek? Did you feel scared about the Treetop Trek? Why didn't your mum do it?
The photos that you sent us are really good and you look like you are having fun. Hope you are coming back soon and have a great time for the rest of your amazing holiday!
