Day 5: Leeds to York to Lakes District (England)

Couldn't resist a bit of shopping this morning, and Buzz picked up an authentic Liverpool Football Club jersey - so he's pretty pumped.  Made it to York in plenty of time and we checked out York which was really lovely - even jumped on a hop-on-off red sightseeing bus where the kids sat in the front seat up the the top (they loved it).

Double trouble upstairs hogging the front row of the bus

York was a lovely little town, and Thomas was famous!!!!

Amazing history behind the walls

Thomas giving his iPod a photo overload...
...and Emily was there making plenty of suggestions.

We then drove from York to the Lakes District (which is upper north west of England).  The scenery along the way was spectacular, everything was lush and green - sadly reminded us of the 'little red tractor' series.  We even had 'Big Blue' appear as we drove by (Ink was driving... so I had to be quick)
Field after field of lush green grass....

Cool stacked stone walls everywhere.

Big Blue from Little Red Tractor
Went past Giggleswick... the kids thought that name was pretty funny
That got a few laughs from the kids

We arrived at Windemere just in time for our 3 course dinner - a great way to complete the day.

We gave the kids the day off from blogging today.  So you'll need to catch their blog tomorrow.

  1. Dear Emily,

We hope that your trip is entertaining and our class is really jealous
of you! You are so lucky to be going to all of these amazing places
and you look like you are having the best time. I hope your bus trip
was FABULOUS and that you have all your memorable photos to keep (that
you have sent us)! The photos that you sent us were bewitching and we
hope the other places you went were are beautiful as well.

What did you have for your three course dinner? Is it cold in the Lake
District? On a scale of 1-10 how funny was the word "Giggleswick"? Are
you jealous about your brother being so famous (Thomas's of York)? Did
you go into the Thomas's of York?

    FUN FACT:

~ Did you know that Giggleswick has around 31 school in it?

We miss you so much, we're looking forward to you coming back.

From 5/6 White and Miss Ferguson. :)

  2. Dear 5\6 White and Miss Ferguson,
Thanks for commenting on my blog and I will keep you guys updated! For my three course dinner for entree I had some slices of garlic bread.
Main course I had beef. vegetables and fries. For dessert I had yummy vanilla ice cream! Lakes District rained a little, but it rains a lot in England! On a scale 1-10 for the place Giggleswick I would rate it a 5, but my mum thought it was hilarious so she gave it an 9. I think she is crazy!

My brother is totally not famous... at least I think........ well he hasn't told me he's famous!

    From you awesome classmate Emily
